Zante Views
Rather than post the same pictures of beaches you will see on a hundred other sites, we would like to show you some views of our favourite parts of Zakynthos.
There are so many places to explore it's well worth hiring a car or taking an island tour with some of the popular island excursion companies.
Here are some photos from our own island tour, I'll keep adding to these to build up a complete journey from Tsilivi all around the island.
This is the Vassilikos Coastline, with Porto Zoro, Banana Beach, and in the distance past the cape St Nicolaos Beach. Some of the most beautiful beaches on the island can be found along this stretch of coast.
A beautiful quiet (well it once was) beach located on the Southern side of the Vassilikos Peninsular. There are two roads to this beach, both of them fairly rough (and thats for a Jeep!).
This is the view looking towards Tsilivi and Zante Town from the hills above Macherado, on our journey over the mountains to the West Coast.
Here is a view you may not have seen. It's of Kampi or Schiza Cross, on the west of the island. This area has fantastic views over the rugged coastline.
Exohora Bay. There are two great Tavernas at the top of the cliff where this photo was taken, well worth a visit to enjoy both the food and the views.
This farm building is well hidden and looks unused for a long time. It had troughs carved out of the rock it stood on. This valley lies hidden amongst the hills near Exo Hora.
This valley was quite stunning, the olive groves here were obviously still well tendered, such an amazingly serene place. Lovely for a picnic.
An old ruined windmill. You could still go inside but I'm allergic to weird creatures that live in dark places. So I stayed outside.
Probably the most famous image of Zante. Taken from the viewing platform at the top of the cliffs.
The waters here are turqoise from the white chalk pebbles and blue water.
